EPICENTER: St. Petersburg qualifiers ended a few days ago in Europe, the Americas and the CIS. The list of participating teams has been finalized!
Team Liquid emerged as the strongest among American teams. They won on 8 out of the 9 maps they played in their regional qualifier, defeating Luminosity Gaming, Optic, and Cloud9 among others.
FaZe proved their worth as the best team in the Europe region. Many experts believe they should have been directly invited. Either way, their stellar showing in the qual ended with a 2-0 grand final victory against NiP.
The CIS qualifier had the most dramatic tension. Na`Vi bested Vega Squadron in the upper bracket and were leading 1-0 in the grand final, but they let victory slip from their grasp and were left with nothing. Vega Squadron are coming to St. Petersburg!
In the China region, holding a full-scale qualifier was sadly impossible due to conflicting schedules with other tournaments, and the organizers decided to directly invite TyLoo. Specially for this tournament, the Chinese team rented the famous Ukrainian player bondik, demonstrating that they have serious plans for EPICENTER.
These are the four teams that will compete in the wild card tournament for the two remaining slots in the group stage. As a reminder, invitations to the tournament had previously been sent to Astralis, SK Gaming, Gambit Esports, North, Virtus.pro и G2.
